Open-pollinated. Flavor is mild, sweet, turnip-like. Round, above-ground “bulbs” with purple, smooth skin have creamy white, tender flesh. Superb for fresh eating, steaming, baking, stir-fry, soups, and pickles. Special Instructions: Use bulbs when the size of an apple before they become hard and woody. Store harvest in cool, frost-free place for winter use.
